Webb in 2013 with her mission being to raise awareness about the issue of colorism and find ways to heal and work towards solutions to this problem.

Black Girl Magic is a movement that came about by CaShawn Thompson in 2013. The movement celebrates the power, individuality, beauty and resilience of black women. Thompson created a social media hashtag with the saying, as well as a clothing campaign.
